Shade Sail Prices – How Much You Should Expect To Pay

Shade Sail Prices – How Much You Should Expect To Pay

November 6th, 2019 · Published to Shade Sails by Steve Lewis

The one question everyone wants to know about shade sails – above their quality and warranty – is how much do they cost. “Shade sail prices” is one of the most searched keywords on Google concerning shade sails, and for a good reason; there is no set cost to them which makes this a hard question to answer. That is unless you opt for store-bought shade sails or purchase DIY shade sails, such as those from our DIY range. However, I’ll discuss these more a little later.

For top-quality, custom made shade sails, there are no set prices. Shade sail prices are based on many elements, including the size and shape of the shade sail, the quality of shade cloth or other material, the installation, and how accessible the installation site itself is, amongst other considerations.

So, while I can’t offer you any fixed prices on custom shade sails, I can give you an idea of how much you should expect to pay by outlining what attributes to shade sail prices. So, please continue reading as I explain how shade sails are priced.

Type of fabric

One of the principal elements that determine shade sail prices is the type of material used, and there are many. Here at Global Shade, we rely on only the best fabrics in the market; Rainbow Z16, Xtreme 32, Polyfab Parasol, Commercial 95, Alnet Extrablock and Monotec 370 series. Each range in UV-R protection, GSM (Grams per Square Meter), tensile strength and warranty. Rainbow Z16 is the most affordable fabric, and Monotec 370 series is the most expensive.

You can also then get waterproof shade sails, which are more expensive again. As above, each material ranges in their offerings. At Global Shade, we trust Ferrari 502, Polyplan 680, and Valmex 580S fabrics.

Shade sail size

The size of the shade sail affects shade sail prices. With a fabric chosen, the price is determined based on the amount of material needed to cover the area.

A note about store-bought & DIY shade sails

While there are no set prices for custom made shade sails, there are, of course, set prices for store-bought and DIY shade sails. You can easily head into your local home improvement warehouse and purchase shade sails for as little as $29.00, however, you are very limited in terms of colour, size and shape.

DIY shade sails, such as those we offer here at Global Shade start at $325.00 and are available in the same shapes as store-bought shade sails, however, they are available in a much more vast colour range.

Conclusion

If you are having trouble trying to find shade sail prices online, it’s because each shade sail needs to be individually quoted based on the size, material, installation and installation site.

The price of a shade sail is determined by a) the material it is made from and b) its size. You can, however, get instant prices from store-bought and DIY shade sails without needing a quote. Just bear in mind that both options are available in limited shapes, sizes and colours.

To get a fixed quote on your shade sail, give me, Steve Lewis, owner of Global Shade, a call. I simply need to know the size and shape of the area you would like to cover, and I can then explain the options in terms of the material. Phone 1800 724 407  today.
